As final exams are coming up for all students, for my twelfth session of classes I decided that my C1.1 level should take some more time for Speaking Exam Practice while my B2.2 level instead had some fun using the same Art and Culture Jeopardy game as the week before.
C1.1 - Monologue Oral Exam Practice Pt. 2
As I previously mentioned, my student's time -- as well as my own -- is coming to a close at EOI. That being said, final exams are right around the corner! I had conducted a very similar Exam Practice earlier in the year (https://ryannvanderzwiep.wixsite.com/mysite/blog/lesson-plan-session-7-speaking-exam-practice-c1-1-extreme-weather-b2-2) and received a lot of positive feedback that it had helped during my student's midterms. So, before it was time to say goodbye to my classes, once again for my C1.1 classes I decided to give some extra practice -- especially for the speaking portion of the exam!
Using my notes from the previous lesson, I created a better layout and understanding of the format in order for my students to answer quicker and stay organized -- but most importantly to stay calm and confident. Having gone through each question and how to succinctly answer them, as well as where to look for the answers, I ran through an old C1 English Exam with them to erase any doubts. Finally, I had my students break into pairs and conduct their own monologues which I provided.
Giving my students an easy format to guide and organize their thinking followed by real-time practice leads me to think they will be better prepared for the final exam. All I can hope for is that I boosted their confidence to kill their finals -- good luck guys!
B2.2 - It's Time for Jeopardy... Again!
Since my previous classes loved last session's game of Jeopardy, I decided to give my B2.2 classes a break for a fun and easygoing day.
